Medical laboratory scientists are specialised health professionals who provide vital information about a patient's state of health. Their input is vital in the diagnosis of disease and in monitoring its treatment.
You will gain skills in accurate observation, and in the collection and recording of test results. After you have completed the degree and fulfilled certain conditions stipulated by the Medical Laboratory Scientists Board, you will be able to register and practise as a medical laboratory scientist. Your degree is also recognised in Australia.

School Leavers:
As well as meeting University Undergraduate Degree Admission, applicants must also meet programme entry under either NCEA, Cambridge International Exams or other secondary school qualifications

14 Level 3 Credits in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics with Statistics
Cambridge International Exams:
Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics with Statistics
School leavers without all the correct Entry Requirements can apply to take subjects from the Certificate in Applied Science programme.
AUT Student:
Certificate in Applied Science with correct prerequisites
Students over the age of 20:
Applicants who are 20 years and over will need to provide evidence of their ability to undertake this degree with a reasonable likelihood of success
Other Programme Requirements:
- Applicants for whom English is a second language are required to have an overall 6.0 IELTS Score (Minimum 5.5 in every band) (Academic Module) or equivalent gained in the last 2 years
